Over Mexico, scattered showers are expected across the northeastern coastline due to a lingering front that will brush across the region on Friday. A few showers are also expected across the southern portion of the country, while high pressure will keep the rest of Mexico mostly clear. In Central America, a few scattered areas of rain will develop over the northern half of the region, while an area of low pressure will continue to dump large amounts of rain over Panama, Costa Rica, and parts of Nicaragua and Honduras. The Caribbean Islands will see mostly sunny skies during the day on Friday.

A trough extending over the northern half of South America will continue to fire up heavy rain and strong thunderstorms across the region on Friday. The bulk of the heavy rainfall will occur over Brazil, and flooding is expected to continue across the country in areas that are prone to flooding. To the south, a weak trough will trigger a few scattered showers across northwestern Argentina and northern Chile on Friday, while high pressure will keep conditions mostly clear over the southern tip of the continent.
