Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, May 13, 2008.

The Caribbean Sea will continue to see mostly clear conditions on Tuesday though the periphery of the region will see some increasing showers and thunderstorms. The Greater Antilles will see enhanced showers and thunderstorms as a cold front approaches from the north. The front is expected to mostly dry out before bringing too much precipitation to the region.

Southern Central America will also see continued wet weather on Tuesday as onshore winds transport moisture into the region. Costa Rica and Panama will see the bulk of the region's precipitation, though some wet weather will also occur throughout Mexico.

Northern South America will also see wet conditions typical of this time of year, although the intensity and coverage of wet weather is starting to diminish as the dry season approaches. More wet weather is likely along the southern tip of South America where the Southern Andes will receive copious rain and high elevation snowfall. Some of the precipitation will spill across the mountains into Argentina.

That summer, the world's deadliest natural disaster of all time--the Yellow River Flood of 1931--killed b...

Weather History:

Did you know that...

A couple incredible hail facts occurred on this date. First, in 1975, hail the size of tennis balls amassed to a depth of 10 inches in Wernersville, Penn. Also, in 1930, a farmer was killed in a hailstorm near Lubbock, Texas accounting for the only official United States death due to hail.
