Strong wind today... Expect gusty winds to continue through the rest of the day across the northeastern Prince William Sound region. From Thompson Pass to Keystone Canyon...frequent wind gusts to 55 mph and temperatures from zero to 15 below zero will continue to reduce wind chill values to near 55 degrees below zero through today. Wind gusts at lower elevations...especially through the Lowe River Valley area...will reach 40 to 50 mph at times and begin to diminish late in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow in the morning...becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the teens except 5 below to 5 above through Thompson Pass. North to east winds 15 to 30 mph. Local gusts 40 to 50 mph. Wind chills to 40 below in the pass.

The Wind Chill Advisory is now in effect until 12 PM akst Saturday for Thompson Pass.
Sub zero temperatures combined with north winds as high as 30 mph will continue to create wind chills as cold as 45 below zero through Thompson Pass. The very low wind chills will persist through Saturday morning.
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
