Synopsis For The Southern Oregon Coastal Waters
Strong high pressure interacting with a thermal trough along the coast will continue to create moderate to very strong north winds and hazardous seas into the weekend. As the thermal trough strengthens this afternoon winds will increase and seas will build further. Storm force winds are expected this afternoon and evening in the southern waters beyond 15 nautical miles offshore...from Point Saint George north to near Cape Blanco. Other areas will experience gale force winds. Winds will weaken slightly on Saturday.
